Random Thought

So am I allowed to have a problem with religious iconography in my workplace? It’s an insurance company, so it’s easy to see the humor, as you’d be hard-pressed to find a more Godless industry. Not that I take particular offense to someone hanging a gaudy pastel 3' x 3' tapestry of Jesus and Mary as a symbol of a belief, it’s just that I question its aesthetic value (which is none). Or maybe I just want to stir things up around here and remind these people that they aren’t dead. Yet. I mean, I’m ALL ABOUT the First Amendment (see how I capitalized it?), but for the love of the God you so loudly worship, do you have to boast your reverence with a rag from Walmart?
Does it make a difference that the displayer of aforementioned God-kitsch possesses the power to fire my agnostic ass?
I guess I know the answer to that one.

As fellow agnostics, we whole-heartedly agree (and we are life-long residents of the Bible Belt). Love your blog -- you've been added to our favorites.
