Making The World Safe For Plutocracy

I'm obsessed with this story:

Minnesota Republicans waged an all-out effort Thursday to make American Indian casino profits a political issue in the waning days of the election campaign, airing state party radio ads that say DFLers "would rather tax average citizens than have tribal casinos pay their fair share."
The ads, which Republicans say will air 600 times between now and Election Day, come one day after Gov. Tim Pawlenty held a meeting of tribal leaders that drew representatives of only two of 11 tribes. He has proposed that the state's tribal casinos pay $350 million a year to keep competitor casinos out.

That's great, because just the other day I was saying to my right-wing pals, "What we need in this election year is more distraction from the war and the god-awful record of our elected Republican officials." And you know what American history has taught me? That nothing, and I mean NOTHING, brings Americans together like stealing from the Indians.
