Amendment To Be (pt. 2 - The Betrayal)
Is it that time of year again?
A senator I once supported urinated on my vote today when he and several other Democrats sided with Republicans in supporting a flag-burning ban amendment - which failed passage by only a single vote. Senator Mark Dayton, you broke my heart. I don't believe in nothin' no more.
If you've heard anything about the New York Times boondoggle this week, you'll know that the B*sh administration has dramatically stepped up its crusade against the so-called "Liberal Media." Not only do I question the existence of such an entity, I'm no longer certain I believe in such a thing as a liberal politician anymore. I think I may be slighly ahead of the curve in this view, but I'm confident that you'll all join me once mid-term elections have come and gone. I envison a world, after another four or five terms of Republican Presidential regime, where the only ones naive enough to believe in the existence of a liberal politician are children a good ten years away from voting age. But don't worry, everyone, the Liberal Politician will live on in memory and folklore. We can give them a holiday like the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus; we'll think of them once a year with a twinkle in our eye and a song in our heart. "You be a good little boy now, Billy, or the Labor Day Liberal won't bring you rainbow buttons and Right To Choose bumper stickers... Oooh where have aaall the floweerrrrs gooonne...."
